This apartment of 96m²in Rio Janeiro, was in good condition but needed changes to translate the way of life of its new resident.
“The future resident wanted a large room, with the home office integrated into the social area, with colors and showing an industrial style”, says the office. Sertão Architectscalled to create a home full of personality, which was ideal for receiving friends and also working from home.
Structurally, the main transformations were the incorporation of one of the three original bedrooms into the living room and the removal of the plaster lining to take advantage of the existing slab. The result was a wider living room, with higher ceilings and an exposed concrete slab full of charm.
The color palette, punctuated by vibrant tones interspersed with the gray of the concrete, it helps to sectorize each room.
In the kitchen, the carpentry orange is the highlight. It serves as support for the counter. In the living room, it is the yellow that takes care of the walls and the woodwork that houses the TV. A shelf with niches frames the living room and runs through part of the dining room, creating a visual integration between the environments.
O blue enters the restroom, which received, in addition to the new color, a new striking pink cabinet.
To the lightingthe office opted for a rail in the concrete beam itself, which allows direct and indirect lighting.
“Lighting was also fundamental, as one of the important points was that it was possible to create scenarios, whether the whole house was lit, a more intimate lighting or lighting to welcome friends”, they explain.
