This project is for an apartment 110 m² of a doctor who decided to move to the same condominium where he lived his whole life with his parents.

The property is located in Barra da Tijuca, a neighborhood on the west side of Rio de Janeiro, and was renovated by the Luana Bergamo and Luiza Mesquita architectures, from the SketchLab Architecture to adapt the new home to your needs and tastes.

“The client wanted an apartment with a youthful aesthetic, reflecting its current moment, but with a layout and space that would work for a future family apartment. We changed practically every room, except the social bathroom”, says Luana.

Originally with three bedrooms, after the renovation, the apartment now has only two bedrooms, expanding the social area with a living room, dining room and TV.

The kitchen was integrated into the living room and part of the couple’s suite was incorporated into the bathroom to create a more spacious box, with two showers.

“The whole project was born from the idea that the integration of the living room with the kitchen would be the heart of the house. , the most used location in the apartment.

For this, we create fluid, spacious and well-lit spaces”, reveals Luiza.

The project also has other highlights, such as the island sofa that serves, at the same time, the living room and the TV room; the reading corner in the living room, composed of the traditional trio ” armchair, side table and floor lamp”.

The bar in ebonized woodwork is fixed to the wall behind the reading chair, which continues the high black granite kitchen countertop; the dining table with eight seats, which allows the customer to comfortably gather the whole family; and the pendant ceiling lamp, made from a square profile, which helped to visually sectorize the TV room.

Overall, the decor follows a contemporary and timeless style. In the social area, for example, the architects used a neutral and sober base to reflect the personality of the client, who, despite being young, is serious.

The kitchen integrated into the living room has darker materials and the joinery follows a classic pattern, combining black, white and freijó.
