With decor inspired by the sertão, the most diverse regional dishes and forró pé de serra in the background, the Encontro Nordestino restaurant opened another branch in Baixada Fluminense this month. The chain now has five units, two in the region: in Duque de Caxias and, now, in São João de Meriti.
The new house is located on Rua Maria Soares Sendas, opposite the Grande Rio mall, and has an area of 540 square meters, the largest unit in the chain. The space has an internal lounge, mezzanine with VIP area and kids’ area.
The unit’s promise is to promote a true cultural and gastronomic immersion in the Northeast. This experience is guaranteed by the typical foods, such as the classic baião de dois and carne de sol na nata, and also by the aesthetics and music, with live shows starring a different guest band every day of the week.
The units’ project was conceived by partner Wescley Sprovieri, who invited Rafael Solha, who has been active in the restaurant market for 20 years. Afterwards, André Ribeiro embraced the idea and joined the network’s team, thus forming the trio represented in the Encontro Nordestino logo, which also alludes to the map of the Northeast, which is, obviously, the great honoree of the house.
Already formed, the trio had the partnership and partnership of Junia Ribeiro, adding to the administrative part, and Daniele Cavalcante, responsible for ornamentation and decoration. The theme of the house was inspired by the cultural heritage of the grandparents of entrepreneurs Wescley and André.
In order for customers to have access to this experience, the new store in São João de Meriti — as well as the other four that are part of the chain — is decorated with typical elements of the hinterland, with rustic wooden furniture, in addition to the traditional São João flags. João, ribbons of Senhor do Bonfim.
Another striking presence in the house are the flags of the nine states in the Northeast, in addition to a map of the region. With a project signed by the architect Fernando Cichon de Almeida and decoration by the interior designer Daniele Cavalcante, the restaurant also has two life-size dolls of Maria Bonita and Lampião.
In the menu, Encontro Nordestino invests in typical dishes. Those who go to the restaurant can order the oxtail pastel, carne de sol in cream, baião with picanha and shrimp in moranga, for example.
To finish, the house recommends a typical Northeastern dessert: Cartola Pernambucana with sugarcane and cinnamon molasses, in addition to tapioca cream with condensed milk, grated coconut and chestnut bran, which is among the signature dishes of the Meeting.
Customers from São João de Meriti and region can also order typical dishes from the chain in the comfort of home via delivery, through the iFood Brasil app. The restaurant is open every day from 11:30 am until midnight.
